Wheatgrass health benefits are considerable, if you are already enjoying good health, it will keep you that way, if good health is but a dream for you, take wheatgrass juice every day, and glowing good health will soon be part of your life.

Wheat grass is a rich source of many vitamins, minerals , it  is  superior to other vegetables because of its content of Vitamin B12, a vital nutrient absent in vegetables. Wheat grass has nearly a gram of protein per teaspoon, but contains no cholesterol or fat. It provides eight of the essential amino acids, and thirteen of the non-essential amino acids.  It contains Vitamins A, in the form of beta carotene, all B complex B 12; C, E and K,  as well as calcium, iodine,  selenium, iron,  zinc, and many other minerals.70% of wheatgrass consists of chlorophyll , this is a very strong antioxidant which will do a magnificient job of detoxifying the cells and washing the toxins  out of your system. Chlorophyll is also capable of  arresting  the growth and proliferation of  unfriendly bacteria, and for this reason is an important addition to your diet if you have taken antibiotics.

It’s important to remember that wheatgrass grown on soil deficient in nutrients will not have all of the above vitamins, therefore it is importan when growing wheatgrass for health benefits to enrich the soil with organic fertilizer before planting the seeds.

A important enzyme found in wheatgrass, superoxide dismutase, is one of the most important antioxidant enzymes which mops up free radicals. ISuperoxide dismutase is an enzyme normally present in the body to provide a defence against free radicals.
SOD also helps protect cells from DNA damage, lipid peroxidation, ionizing radiation damage, protein denaturation, and many other forms of progressive cell degradation.

An enzyme called P4D1 found in wheatgrass,  was found to do two things in the human body. It is the first known substance to actually stimulate repair of the DNA molecule. It is possible that disease cells can be repaired with P4D1 so that when they reproduce they will actually produce good cells. P4D1 has also been shown in laboratory tests to eat the protein sheath off a  cell so that the white blood cells can attack and destroy them.

New York – July 31 — New science indicating fluoride’s dangers to the brain and other organs will be presented by prominent fluoride research scientists during back-to-back conferences of the International Society for Fluoride Research (ISFR) and the Fluoride Action Network (FAN) in Toronto August 7-11.

Fluoride, added to water supplies ostensibly to prevent tooth decay, is also in virtually all non-organic foods and beverages. Fluoride’s brain effects were never examined prior to water fluoridation.

Recently, because of health concerns, Health Canada recommended that fluoride levels be lowered in Canadian water supplies, children’s toothpaste and infant formula but claims that “the weight of evidence does not support a link between fluoride and intelligence quotient deficit.”

“It is hard to believe that any “weight of evidence” analysis could possibly dismiss fluoride’s neurological impacts. There have now been over 40 animal studies which show that fluoride can damage the brain, and no less than 18 studies which show that fluoride lowers IQ in children, and only 2 that don’t. I look forward to reading the full report when it is made available,” says Paul Connett, PhD, FAN Executive Director.

According to ISFR conference organizer, Dr. Hardy Limeback, “Our conference features experts who researched the dangers that fluoride poses to human health. Our keynote speaker, Dr. A.K. Susheela, (Executive Director, Fluorosis Research and Rural Development Foundation, India) probably knows more about fluoride’s toxic effects to the body than any other living scientist. It is important that officials who promote water fluoridation hear what she and others have to say,” says Limeback.

Susheela can also explain to Medical Doctors, often untrained in fluoride toxicology, how to diagnose, treat and reverse early fluoride toxicity symptoms which can mimic arthritis and irritable bowel syndrome.

The latest issue of ISFR’s journal, Fluoride, published 12 newly-translated Chinese studies, which report fluoride’s effects on the brain, including the lowering of IQ in children. These and other brain studies will be reviewed at both conferences.

Coupled with these conferences, the Toronto-based Citizens for a Safe Environment (CSE) will host two public meetings with FAN in downtown Toronto on Monday August 11.

According to CSE director Karen Buck, “These meetings will give the public information they don’t get from our government or dental organizations. In the afternoon, a panel will address the question of whether Toronto should stop fluoridating its water. In the evening experts will explain fluoride’s dangers to health.”

After receiving an invitation to attend these meetings, the Ontario Dental Association (ODA)sent out a news release urging legislators and communities to stand up in support of fluoridation; but they won’t do so, themselves.

“The best way that the ODA can get communities and politicians to stand up for water fluoridation is to provide, in person, a cogent and scientifically-referenced defense of fluoridation at the afternoon forum,” says CSE President Karen Buck. ODA has yet to respond.

At all three events, Dr. Vyvyan Howard, an infant and fetal pathologist, and president of the International Society of Doctors for the Environment, will be presenting a major review of studies on fluoride’s brain effects, including the translated Chinese studies.

“The best way to lower children’s fluoride intake, as Health Canada suggests, is to stop fluoridation,” says Connett. “It makes no sense to prescribe fluoride drugs to children via the water supply at levels which are between 150 and 250 times higher than the level in mothers’ milk.”

Researchers at the National Institute of Health in Bethesda Maryland, examined the effects of vitamin C on laboratory grown cells. They found that vitamin C cut the survival time of ovarian, pancreatic, and brain tumors after only 2 hours of exposure to the vitamin.

The researchers had similar results when they ran their tests on cancerous tumors in mice , vitamin C therapy killed the cancer cells, while leaving healthy cells undamaged.

Excess vitamin C when taken orally is excreted in the urine, in order to overcome this, vitamin C was injected directly into the blood stream.

“The experiments showed that high levels of vitamin C in the blood generate hydrogen peroxide, which is lethal to tumors. The chemical forms in the spaces between cancer cells, damaging membranes, upsetting metabolism and scrambling the DNA of the tumor”.

Hemp seed oil has been called nature’s most perfectly balanced oil by Udo Erasmus, writer of Fats That Heal Fats that Kill. It is a rich source of essential fatty acids, in fact it is the richest known source of EFAs in the plant kingdom. Hemp oil is a rich source of Essential Fatty Acids (EFAs) – Omega 6 linoleic , Omega 3 alpha linolenic and Gamma Linolenic acid (GLA) that are important for optimum health in the body. EFAs cannot be produced by the body itself and are vital for the structure and functions of tissues in the body.

Hemp seed oil is superior to flax oil because it’s fatty acid profile is better balanced. It contains Omega-6 and Omega-3 EFAs in a 3 to 1 ratio and it also contains close to 2% GLA which is a major active ingredient in evening primrose and borage oils, the latter having the highest percentage of GLA.It is the presence of these fatty acids in this particular ratio that helps improve skin conditions such as eczema, psoriasis and acne. Hemp oil may also benefit other inflammatory diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, osteoporosis, Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis.

Comparing the benefits of hemp seed oil to flax oil Udo Erasmus reports that if flax oil is used long-term, it creates an imbalance in w6. He uses his own case to explain his point when he mentions:” While it took me 2 years to end up with thin, papery-feeling skin that dried and cracked easily,w6 deficiency could develop in as short a time as 10 to 16 months of exclusive use of flax oil”.

Hemp seed oil does not pose any problems for long-term use, unlike flaxseed which if too much is taken can actually produce deficiency symptoms of Omega-6.This may be an unlikely scenario for most people since so much Omega-6 fats are consumed, however, some people may be of the mindset that more is better, and this is not the case.

Bioflavonoids are usually found with vitamin C, they enhance its absorption. The different bioflavonoids include; hesperidin, hesperetin, eriodictyol, quercetin, quercetrin, and rutin.

The principal effect of the bioflavonoids is to decrease the permeability and fragility of the blood vessels, and to constrict capillaries. Bioflavonoids act synergistically with vitamin C in their action to protect and strengthen the capillaries.

Bioflavonoids act to prevent the blood cells from clumping together, this action prevents clots forming. They also have an anti-bacterial effect, promote circulation, stimulate bile production, act as antioxidants, inhibit histamin release, lower cholesterol levels, reduce inflammation of the retina, and prevent its recurrence.

As people age the fragility of the capillaries increases, this also occurs in those with atherosclerosis, high blood pressure, rheumatoid arthritis, diabetes and infections. The addition of 600mg of bioflavonoids supplement per day has been found to restore fragile capillaries, in the elderly, to normal.

Abnormal uterine bleeding, metrorrhagia and menorrhagia have been successfully treated with bioflavonoids, as has all excessive bleeding. Bioflavonoids have been used to treat cardiovascular disease, cataracts, viral infections, varicose veins, hemorrhoids, and leg edema. Where inflammation is present, it can be treated successfully with bioflavonoids. They have also been found to have a positive effect on removing hot flashes, it was noted that bioflavonoids worked better than estrogen.

Food sources of bioflavonoids include:the white rind of citrus fruit, skins of fruit and vegetables, buck wheat, and young grass shoots, such as wheat grass and barley grass.

Lee Euler, the author of the ebook, The Missing Link for Good Health, may shock you with some of the claims made in the book, in fact they appear to be a bit over the top. The author claims that taking vitamins, supplements is a complete waste of money if you don’t supply the missing ingredient in your diet. He goes on to say that eating nutritionally superior food is no guarantee of good health if you don’t take the missing ingredient.

Lee Euler writes about a man who was diagnosed with kidney cancer, given days to live, and yet when the missing ingredient was added to the man’s diet, he lived for another 15 years.

There are reports of terminal pancreatic cancer patients when treated with the missing ingredient, responded far better than those treated with chemotherapy.

Lee Euler mentions that the ingredient is widely used in Germany to treat pain, to treat osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, autism. blood clots, injured athletes, migraines, and spastic colon.

He tells you that if a large proportion of your diet was uncooked, then you wouldn’t have to concern yourself about the missing ingredient. What Lee Euler says in the book makes a pile of sense, for years many health practitioners have advocated more raw food and less cooked. Cooking destroys this all important ingredient, it’s as simple as that.

Eating lots of raw vegetables fails to appeal to the majority of taste buds, people prefer to cook their food, and it’s this habit which is depriving them of the vital ingredient. Cooking destroys not only vitamins, but this indispensable ingredient.

I read some very unfavorable references to this book on a forum, many of the posters to the forum had not even read the book. They were reacting to the author’s claims, he threatened their belief systems, how dare he claim that you can heal yourself with a healthy diet. These people were referring to the book as an over hyped lot of outrageous claims. Sad to read this type of uninformed posting, for it was all too apparent, that they hadn’t bought the book. They just wanted someone to tell them what the missing ingredient was.

People have been conditioned to accept disease, they expect it, and then when someone comes along and threatens their belief systems, by telling them that they can cure their problems, they scurry to bag the author.

We all need to take responsibility for our health, we need to nourish ourselves and our families with the best possible food. That’s what this book is about, sure, preparing a plate of raw food for the family may cause a riot, but what the heck, they’ll get used to it.

But then if you don’t want to eat sit down to a plate of raw vegetables for dinner, then all you have to do is add the supplement to your regular diet.

This book is not expensive, it’s just under $20, furthermore you can keep the book for 60 days, and if your are not satisfied, you can have a full refund.

“These incredible results are a matter of record, published in medical journals by Dr. Nicholas J. Gonzalez, an M.D. in New York City”

Symptoms of vitamin B 12 deficiency may manifest as abnormal neurological symptoms, such as a shaky and unsteady gait, muscle weakness, dementia, psychoses., fatigue, depression, memory loss, inflammation of the tongue, and pernicious anemia. Studies indicate that the levels of vitamin B12 deficiency , may not necessarily have to be much lower, than what is considered to be normal.

Food sources of vitamin B 12 are meat, particularly liver, kidney, eggs, oily fish, oysters, milk and dairy products, soy products, and some sea vegetables. Vitamin B 12 is also synthesized by bacteria in the gut, provided the bacteria have not been knocked out by antibiotics. Vegetarians, particularly vegans may need to be particularly diligent about adding B12 to their diet. Neurological damage caused by a deficiency of B12, may not appear until it is too late to rectify the condition.

Vitamin B12 will not be absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract, unless the intrinsic factor is present in the stomach.

Drugs which cause deficiency of B12 include: methotrexate, cholestyramine, neomycin, colchine, sodium aminosalicylate, slow release potassium chloride, mteformin, phenformin, sodium nitroprussidem and oral contraceptives.

Researchers at Queensland’s Brain Institute, are studying the effects of vitamin D deficiency, on the brain development of the unborn baby. Using an animal study, the research team of four, led by Dr Darryl Eyle, have found that:”Over the past four years we’ve been able to show that low vitamin D intake in animals during pregnancy results in offspring with brain abnormalities similar to those seen in patients with schizophrenia.”

The researchers are now studying blood spots taken from infants at birth, these blood spots are provided by the Statens Serum Institute in Copenhagen. These blood spots, along with the ongoing medical record of each infant, have been kept by the institute since 1981.

The team intend to study 2000 Danish blood spots, 1000 cases, and 1000 controls. “If we establish the link in this huge patient cohort, we will be able to show that having low maternal vitamin D does not necessarily mean a child is going to develop schizophrenia but, if a child has a particularly vulnerable genome, the low maternal vitamin D may be the environmental trigger,” Dr Eyles said.

Many of us may think that all we have to do is eat 3 meals a day and that should supply all the vitamins we need. Unfortunately this is not the case, for it all depends on what we eat, where it came from, how it is prepared, and how much we eat.

If meals are grabbed on the run from the nearest fast food chain, then you can be sure that the main ingredient in your diet is trans fat, combined with fast release carbohydrates, loads of sugar and salt, and protein.

If fast food is consumed on a regular basis, adding vitamins to such a poor diet is not the answer, for vitamins are supplements to be added to an already balanced diet. Unfortunately many who take vitamins assume that although their nutrition may be poor, if they take vitamins all will be well.

Unless nutrition is taught in schools, the average Joe will not be aware of what a well balanced diet is all about. Processed packaged supermarket foods do nothing to maintain health, they may fill your stomach, but that’s all. A supermarket trolley overladen with what many consider to be the essentials of life, may be not only deficient in vitamins, but some of the ingredients in those eye appealing packages may be capable of actually destroying vitamins.

Fruit and vegetables bought from the supermarket may look good, but whether or not they contain the vitamins and minerals needed to maintain health is doubtful. The herbicides, fungicides, and pesticides used in the growing process, and the fertilizer used to speed growth may provide a source of heavy metals, rather than vitamins. To top all of this off, the vegetables are irradiated with gamma rays to destroy the little gremlins which hide amongst the leaves. Irradiation destroys the vitamins as well as the bugs.

The vegetables are taken home to be cooked, and because many vitamins are sensitive to heat, then you can forget those vitamins. Furthermore, if the vegetables are microwaved, then this process alos destroys vitamins.

Ideally it is far better to obtain all the vitamins and minerals you need from fruit and vegetables which have been grown organically and locally. Since this is an uncommon scenario in today’s society, it is often necessary to add supplements to the diet.
