Vitamin P is a water soluble vitamin that possesses a crystalline structure and also contains several characteristics of a Bioflavonoid. The main function of this vitamin is to ensure that the blood vessels remain healthy. It does so by building up the resistance of the capillaries against excessive bleeding. Thus, it helps to keep the blood vessel system protected against disease and infection.

Bioflavonoids are also known for their antioxidant properties. They play an important role in neutralizing the effects of free radicals which cause extensive cell damage. Free radicals damage cells in much the same way as rust damages a car. These harmful atoms are capable of destroying cells so that the body becomes more susceptible to various diseases, heart ailments and other adverse conditions including premature aging. The presence of bioflavonoids in the body fight against the free radicals and protect the body against various diseases and premature aging.

Bioflavonoids are also known for their anti- inflammatory properties. Sometimes, consuming bioflavonoids can helps wounds heal faster and benefit the bruised muscles and joints.

Vitamin P can also help in lowering blood pressure because of the calming effect it has on the cardiovascular system. Scientific studies are also being conducted to prove if Vitamin P has an impact on the bleeding in the retina, nose or hemorrhoids (an ailment common among people who suffer from hypertension or diabetes). Research is also being conducted to prove if this vitamin can actually help reduce the growth of tumors.

Brightly colored fruits and vegetables such as oranges, mangoes, apricots, cherries, plums, onions, broccoli, bell peppers, tomatoes and carrots are excellent sources of Vitamin P since Bioflavonoids are plant-based. Most people are unaware that a major part of the bioflavonoid value actually comes from the rind.

Medical professionals also consider red wine to be a good source of Vitamin P and recommend drinking a glass with dinner. Other sources that include bioflavonoids include buckwheat, green tea, ginko, rose hip and milk thistle.

Although there isn’t any recommended daily dose of Vitamin P, most nutritionists advice eating at least 5 servings of fruits and vegetables a day.

Consuming fruits and vegetables that are brightly colored will automatically give them adequate amounts of Vitamin P, especially if they supplement it with a cup of green tea for lunch and a glass of red wine for dinner. Therefore, it is important to get the required portions of fruits and vegetables everyday to be healthy.

One advantage about Vitamin P is that there are no risks associated with a deficiency of this vitamin or any adverse effects if one consumes excess amounts either.

Choosing a product to cleanse the colon is challenging, especially that products execute great marketing strategies and make it difficult for consumers to know which products will work and which will not. Advertisements are so compelling that even the most ineffective colon maintenance products get so much attention from consumers. And so the only solution left to know trusted and reliable products is to read reviews by people who themselves have tried these products.

In researching reviews in personal blogs and social networking sites from the net, Bowtrol colon cleanse supplement gets a very high approval rating. Promotion wise, Bowtrol claims that it thoroughly unclogs the colon from unwanted materials such as gluey fecal matters, bacteria, and toxins. Of course, we really cannot prove if this claim is true visually, so we have just to rely on its effects once taken by the body.

Taking colon cleanse supplement like Bowtrol is irrelevant without practicing ideal health habits. We must of course eat a lot of fruits and vegetables, as these foods have high fiber contents that bulk up the feces and making them easier to release. Drinking 8 glasses or more of water or natural fruit juices everyday is also must, together with adequate sleep and regular exercise. In connection to exercise, doing routines concentrated on the lower abdominal and pelvic area is advised to achieve sound bowel movement.

Most of all, we should not fight the urge of a bowel movement, even if we are too busy to do so. The body’s elimination of food should occur at least 18-24 hours after eating. If we are not having at least one bowel movement every single day, we not only feel uncomfortable, we are putting ourselves at risk for serious health problems. Defecating during the peak of work may sound embarrassing, but it is definitely better than suffering from painful colon complications or other diseases cause by toxic colon.

There are many vitamins that your body needs every single day in order to function properly. One such vitamin is vitamin C. The best way to get vitamin C is to each a balanced diet that includes foods like green peppers, citrus fruits, strawberries, green vegetables, fish, potatoes, broccoli, milk, and tomatoes. Look at the labels on your foods. Vitamin C is sometimes also called ascorbic acid. If you are worried that you cannot get enough vitamin C naturally in your food, talk to a doctor. He or she may recommend a daily vitamin C supplement to help you maintain the correct levels of vitamin C in your body.

Vitamin C is one of 13 vitamins that out body needs. Some of these vitamins are fat-soluble, which means that our body can store them for later use. However, vitamin C is one of vitamins in the body that is not fat-soluble. Therefore, the body cannot store it and it must be consumed every day. How much vitamin C you should have in your body depends on your age, gender, weight, lifestyle, and whether you are pregnant or not.

What does vitamin C do? Basically , vitamin C is an antioxidant, which means that it battles the forces in our body that can cause organ, tissue, and cell damage. Therefore, vitamin C protects the body and may specifically be linked to reducing the signs of aging. If you do not have enough vitamin C in your body, you will develop scurvy. Scurvy is very uncommon in the United States, but can cause anemia, gum disease, skin hemorrhages, and weakness.

When you begin taking vitamin C supplements, make sure that you follow your doctor’s recommendations. If you take to much vitamin C, you can overdose, just as you would with a typical drug. This is rare, because vitamin C is water soluble and high amounts will leave the body at a normal rate, but when it does happen, it can cause kidney stones and interfere with vitamin B12 absorption, causing anemia. Diarrhea is also a side effect. Therefore, it is best to listen to you doctor’s recommendation.

In most cases, you will automatically get enough vitamin C in your foods, especially if you are eating a healthy diet. If you are not and your doctor tells you to begin taking vitamin C supplements, look carefully at the labels of different brands before you buy anything. Because vitamin supplements are classified as foods and not drugs, they are not regulated by the government and each brand’s potency will vary slightly from the next.

Omega-3 oils are high in two types of essential fats that your body needs to maintain its good health. These two fats are DHA and EPA. DHA and EPA are very important in maintaining your health. Scientific research has indicated that these substances may also help prevent a variety of very significant and sometimes common but life threatening diseases.

If we lived in a perfect world where we were getting the optimal nutritional benefits that are needed from our diets we would be able to get all the Omega-3s we needed by simply eating fish. However, it is unfortunate that fish oil is weak in antioxidant content. Fish oil is not only weak in antioxidant content but as you try to increase your intake of Omega-3 essential fatty acids by eating more fish or taking oil, you are actually increasing your need for more antioxidant protection.

Besides that there are several other problems when taking fish oil to get the proper amount of Omega 3 fatty acids. For one, fish oil is extremely perishable. To make sure that the fish oil doesn’t become oxidized and rancid antioxidants are necessary. When the fish oils start to oxidize it leads to the formation of more unhealthy free radicals. Researchers and scientists believe that one of the main reasons we age is because of these free radicals.

So, you are left with a cycle that is hard to break. You not only need to get more antioxidants for your health in general, but your will need to increase your intake of antioxidants even more when you use fish oil to get the proper amount of Omega 3 fatty acids.

This cycle has been a problem for most people. However, there is a solution to this problem. The solution begins with a new discovery of Krill oil. Krill oil has not only given us a top-quality alternative to fish oil but it has given us an arsenal of important nutrients that help in fighting the aging process. Important nutrients that have been responsible for helping the Inuits in Greenland stay young and vibrant.

Krill oil is very special marine oil that is exceptionally high in DHA and EPA, a unique food from the sea some may say. Krill oil also has another property that has been know as a secret weapon that is not found in fish oils. This secret weapon explains why it has superior phospholipids, which help deliver the fatty acids directly to your body’s cells. Scientific evidence to date has shown that the safest and most effective carriers of EPA and DHA are these phospholipids.

Phospholipids are the building blocks for your cell membranes and are critical for protecting cell membranes from toxic injury and free radical attacks which allow more EPA and DHA to directly enter the cells and improve your Omega-3 to Omega-6 ratio.

The most principal phospholipids in Krill oil is phosphatidyl chorine which make it a rich source of choline. Various studies have established the importance of choline in brain development especially learning and memory. Chorine is predominantly important for fetal and infant brain development in pregnant and nursing women.

Choline is the predecessor for the vital neurotransmitter acetylcholine. Acetylcholine sends nerve signals to the brain, and also for trimethylglycine which is a recognized liver protector. A shortage of acetylcholine has been associated with brain-related disorders such as Alzheimer’s disease and autism.

A product such as Krill Oil is loaded with phospholipids-backed Omega-3s and it also includes a full complement of necessary antioxidants that are not in cod liver or fish oil.

In America obesity is out of control, diabetes is an epidemic and chronic diseases are increasing. The Journal of Food Composition and Analysis states that one-third of our calories are from junk foods, soft drinks, sweets, alcoholic beverages and salty snacks. Soft drinks and other junk foods are considered “empty calories” high in calories but having no nutritional value. High in calories, no nutrition but contributor to obesity, diabetes and chronic illnesses.

We all have stressful and hurried lives. It is convenient picking up fast food for lunch or dinner. We treat our kids on the weekends picking up fast food. Or having a bag of chips. But is it healthy? The answer is no. There is scientific evidence that there are strong links between what you eat and health.

We can still eat our favorite foods but you have to substitute foods and prepare them differently. Additionally, some things have to be eliminated from your diet. Weight loss and disease prevention is not about eating less but our choice of foods. Let us consider healthy foods:

High consumption of fruits and vegetables. Preferably green leafy vegetables raw or minimally processed

Olive oil versus butter. Olive oil is a monosaturated fat and increases the level of HDL good cholesterol.

Whole grain cereals and pasta.

High consumption of beans, nuts and seeds

Red Meat and dairy are substituted with poultry or sea food. Poultry and sea food are rich in Omega-3 fatty acids.

If red meat is eaten, it is in very limited qualities

A maximum of 4 eggs are eaten a week.Substitute soft drinks with water or fresh juice Reduce or eliminate processed foods.

Additionally, wine contains flavanols and anti-inflammatory properties that may help lower cholesterol and  defend against heart disease. Drink wine in moderation hopefully one glass at dinner.

Beans - have soluble fiber when passed through the intestinal tract grabs and removes cholesterol before it is absorbed in your body. By reducing the cholesterol level beans reduces the risk of heart disease. Additionally, the compound found in beans isoflavins lagnins phytic acid sapopin and protease inhibitors studies have shown keep normal cells from turning cancerous and inhibit their growth. Women with a high weekly consumption of beans have half the risk of breast cancer as versus to women that do not have a high consumption of bean. Studies suggest the cancer reduction is because of beans.

Nuts(non processed) – Nuts are cholesterol free and eating one ounce per day reduces the risk of heart disease and type 2 diabetes. Some studies suggest 4-5 servings per day may help lower blood pressure. Nuts are a great snack.
