Researchers at the National Institute of Health in Bethesda Maryland, examined the effects of vitamin C on laboratory grown cells. They found that vitamin C cut the survival time of ovarian, pancreatic, and brain tumors after only 2 hours of exposure to the vitamin.

The researchers had similar results when they ran their tests on cancerous tumors in mice , vitamin C therapy killed the cancer cells, while leaving healthy cells undamaged.

Excess vitamin C when taken orally is excreted in the urine, in order to overcome this, vitamin C was injected directly into the blood stream.

“The experiments showed that high levels of vitamin C in the blood generate hydrogen peroxide, which is lethal to tumors. The chemical forms in the spaces between cancer cells, damaging membranes, upsetting metabolism and scrambling the DNA of the tumor”.
